Using awk in vim

Posted on 2018/12/20 by Carl Robitaille
Reply

:%!awk ‘{print $2 ” ” $3}’

This is a new one for me.

From inside of vim:

:%!awk '{print $2 " " $3}'

It does exactly what I wanted.

I don't think I've run awk from inside of vim before. But I suspect I will do so again.

B) A Kuiper belt object
C) The Jan. 1 flyby target for @NASANewHorizons
If you picked "all of the above," well done! 🌟 Send us #askNASA questions now on Facebook Live: https://t.co/KKGXt7aMeg pic.twitter.com/rWia1yH6Fm
